SHARJAH -- Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest low-cost carrier operator, has announced the launch of a new daily non-stop service between Sharjah and Frankfurt, further strengthening air connectivity between the UAE and Germany.

The new route will begin on December 15, 2026, making Frankfurt Air Arabia’s second destination in Germany after Munich. The service will connect Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) with Frankfurt Airport (FRA), giving passengers more convenient and affordable access to one of Germany’s leading commercial, financial and tourism centres.

The route will be operated using Air Arabia’s Airbus A320neo aircraft, offering passengers a modern cabin experience while providing improved fuel efficiency and operational performance.

UAE-Germany travel

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said Frankfurt represents another important milestone in the airline’s continued expansion across Europe.

“As our second destination in Germany, the new route reflects the growing importance of the German market within our network and the strong demand we continue to see for travel between our two countries,” he said.

He added that the daily non-stop service would provide passengers with greater choice, convenience and affordable connectivity while supporting tourism, trade and economic ties between the UAE and Germany.

Fraport COO Dietmar Focke said the daily Sharjah service would create an important new connection between the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region and the UAE.

The new destination complements Frankfurt Airport’s existing network of services to the Gulf region, while also giving passengers access to Air Arabia’s wider route network, he said.

Flight schedule

The new Frankfurt service will operate daily from December 15, with flights scheduled across different days of the week. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, flight G9 0682 will depart Sharjah at 3:50pm and arrive in Frankfurt at 8:15pm. The return flight, G9 0683, will leave Frankfurt at 9:05pm and arrive in Sharjah at 6:30am the following day.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, flight G9 0649 will depart Sharjah at 8:10am and reach Frankfurt at 12:35pm. The return flight, G9 0650, will depart Frankfurt at 1:25pm and arrive in Sharjah at 10:50pm.

Air Arabia has continued to expand its European network from Sharjah, with existing destinations including Milan Bergamo, Munich, Vienna, Athens, Prague, Krakow, Warsaw Chopin, London Gatwick and Rome.

The addition of Frankfurt will further expand travel options between Germany, Sharjah and the wider UAE, while providing passengers with onward connectivity across Air Arabia’s growing network.
